Lettuce get your edible garden growing
Our programs focus on the fundamentals of creating a healthy garden
At Local Foodprint we start you on your garden journey. We take the time to get to know you and your edible garden goals and aim to get you from go to grow. We guarantee you’ll be impressed with your skill.
Site analysis: We develop seasonal planting plans that suit your climate and microclimate, ie. both the climate of the region you live in, and the climate conditions that exist in your private green space. We will assess the conditions of your site to identify areas that are best to grow vegetables, fruit trees and shrubs such as blueberries, and where to best place compost bins and worm farms.
Compost systems and worm farms: We can help you set up compost beds or bins and worm farms at home that turn your kitchen scraps into rich humus and worm castings to return nutrients to your edible garden.
Soil: Good quality soil is essential to plant health, creating optimal conditions for plants to access nutrients. We teach you how to build healthy soil, no matter your starting point.
Seed raising: We help you propagate seeds or alternately can provide seedlings depending on what your choices and the seasons.
Water: Allowing soil to dry out can cause plant stress and reduce moisture to draw from as plants grow. Watering regularly is critical to encouraging strong, healthy plants. A range of irrigation options can be considered to suit your garden.
